Summer Vacation

Last Posting April 24th, Ugh! Summer is here and it is getting hot already here. The boys are having a blast together. Zekey turned One on May 28th.....what a blur this year has been. Parties, MOPS, Play Dates are keeping us busy. For Zekey's first birthday HE gave us a gift too.........he learned to run. Like I didn't have enough to keep up with?
Every Wednesday my Mom's Group has had a Book Study where we get to have intelligent conversations and discussions and the kids get to play. The book we are working on is Guilt-Free Motherhood, Parenting with Godly Widsom. I can't recommend this book more highly. This one is worth reading and applying to in all my parenting principles. We are also remodeling our master bath ("we" - that's funny I mean Rory is remodeling). So the Allison family is sharing a bathroom at this point. Yes, it is a fun as it sounds.
Rory and I celebrated our 4th anniversary, Yippee! We went out to dinner to the Hapuna Prince Hotel Restaurant where we orginally met and then honeymooned. Very romantic!
We think Noa is turning a corner and really working hard to use self-control and he is making better choices. There are still many "teachable moments," but we are seeing HUGE improvements.

Kailua Bay

We just got back from an incredible family vacation in Oahu. Spending time with Grandie and Grammie was priceless. Shopping at Ala Moana wasn't to shabby either. Ah the big city and all it has to offer. We had the opportunity of a life time staying in a beautiful house right on Kailua Bay. Being able to run out the front yard directly onto the white sandy beach was such a gift for the boys. Taking long walks after dinner was dream come true. The boys got to have a room with a view of the beach (it was about 100ft away). They got to go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of the ocean. This was my first opportunity to see a sunrise come up over the ocean. There is just something that touches your soul deeply being able to witness the sun come up over the ocean, it is like being a apart of a birth of a new day.
It was a little stressful (to say the least) because the house was so gorgeous $$$$. It is hard to keep two little curious and very active little boys on their best behavior all the time (they did great though) They just wanted touch and get into everything. Did I mention that during the trip Zekey became an official walker. Now the boys are off and running. I can barely keep up.
I pray that Noa remembers this trip all of his life.

Big Week

This is a long overdue update. Life has been very demanding lately, when I am in the office it is to quickly pay bills or check emails. The luxury of getting on the computer and updating their blog is almost non existent. But, I said it is my new years resolution to create a blog to document and remember important times and events. Sooooo here is another attempt.

This month has had it ups and downs. Noa is going through so challenges with listening and obeying rules. He has some challenges with impulse control and listening to Mom and Dad. I know that he is trying and that makes it all worth it, patience at 3.5 is tough. Noa is extremely smart so I know he will persevere. He is mastering the alphabet and counting to twenty. I am so impressed with ability to put so many concepts that he is learning together. I know he is getting it cause he can tell me the rules when I break them. Puzzles are his new passion. With a little help he can do a 100 piece puzzle with ease. He sees matching pieces better than me sometimes. His dad has given him so great pointers. Last week a group of moms from MOPS went to the beach for a family day. I am always so impressed how well the kids get along. It didn't seem to matter that there were kids of all ages. There are two other little boys that Noa loves to play with. We call them all Mischief, Curious and Trouble (each of the boys share a title at any given moment). They are so much fun to watch.

Zekey had a incredible week.....he is taking his first steps toward walking. He is taking about four steps at a time. That little guys has the sweetest temperament. Together they are so sweet to watch. Noa really tries to be the best big brother, you can see how much he loves Zeke by how gentle and patient he is with him (most of the time).

Zekey has a big Appetite

Zeke is growing so fast...can't believe he is already nine months.

Trying to enjoy every milestone...but we blink and he is already another month older. He is crawling around the house and standing up. He can walk around the whole house using the walls and furniture to steady himself. He is such a sweetie. His smile lights up the whole house.

Baptism

This was a moment that will forever live in Rory's and my heart forever. We were baptised in front of our church family. Rory's mom and sister were able to attend to further make the occasion incredible.

Reflection

Noa and Zekey are having a great time with Grannie this past week. It is a gift to have relative come for a visist. Especially grandparents. The unconditional love they give is priceless. The weather has been kinda cold and very windy (yes, it does get chilly in Hawaii). Dad is on a business trip in Florida....the boys are missing him terribly. Hopefully, we will all survive without him. Absense does make the heart grow fonder and we all appreciate all that he does even more.

It is hard to believe that Zeke is 8 months and growing fast. I count my blessing everyday that we are fortunate enough that I can stay home with the boys. Though being a stay at home is not always a picnic I know it is the right thing for us all. The days are filled with lots of challenges, laundry (thanks mom for the break), picking up, negociating, and sometime pulling my hair out. The infinate loop of endless questions from my three year old is a crack up. Don't get me wrong I love the curisitoy and him to death....BUT coming up with the answers can be a task. And I wasn't expecting to feel like I am either constantly making meals or cleaning them up...it never ends. But, I hope that when my boys are all grown up they know how much they are loved and how much spending time with them has meant to me. I am one of the lucky ones that get to see all their kids accomplishmenst, milestones and kiss every little ouchys.

Bear with the video...hopefully my camerawomen skills will improve.
